TRC’s client is a leading manufacturer of structural adhesives looking for a Senior Compute and Storage Server Engineer to join their team in the Cary, NC area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the designing, planning, implementation, support, and maintenance of infrastructure solutions specific to compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Conduct daily environmental health monitoring, proactively remediating any identified issues; resolve any reported incidents and fulfill requests pertaining to compute infrastructure.
- Lead the automation and instrumentation of regular maintenance on infrastructure hardware end points to ensure optimal performance.
- Build technical solutions to enhance performance and add flexibility to the existing infrastructure; assist in the replacement of compute / storage infrastructure at multiple locations.
- Assist in defining, testing, and deploying a disaster recovery solution for all critical applications consistent with corporate guidelines and standards.
- Assist in evaluation and documentation of current policies and practices against Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements; conduct remediation activities to ensure compliance is attained / maintained.
- Create concise and accurate technical documentation.
- Manage multiple small to medium initiatives simultaneously, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computing sciences, information systems, or related field required
- Strong server infrastructure and virtualization experience, including 6+ years of experience in VMware, Nutanix AHV, Dell Apex VxRail, and/or Microsoft Hypervisor
- Strong Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) experience
- Knowledge of backup / disaster recovery technologies and processes; preference shown to Azure and/or AWS experience
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with ability to work effectively in both independent and team-based environments
BONUS SKILLSETS:
- Experience in PowerShell and/or Python scripting
- Experience automating server infrastructure processes (spinning up, maintaining, monitoring, remediating VMs)
- ITIL Foundations or Intermediate level certification
- Prior ServiceNow experience
