About The Position

A healthcare facility in West Virginia is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position starting 08/18/2025. This 84-day assignment requires coverage for weekday shifts from 8 am to 5 pm, with some weekend work including 4 hours of rounding. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with general gastroenterology procedures, endoscopies, scopes, and consults. ERCP skills are crucial for the inpatient portion, and EUS experience is also needed. This opportunity also has the possibility of extension.

Provider Type Needed: Gastroenterologist

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, some weekends (4 hours rounding Saturday and Sunday)

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Perform general gastroenterology procedures 

• Conduct endoscopies and other scopes 

• Provide gastroenterology consults 

• Perform ERCP procedures, particularly for inpatient care 

• Conduct EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) procedures 

• Manage both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology cases 

• Participate in weekend rounding (4 hours on Saturdays and Sundays) 

• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and patient management 

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care 

• Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Additional Information: 

• Must be a board-certified Gastroenterologist 

• Active West Virginia medical license required 

• ERCP and EUS experience is essential 

• Familiarity with Epic EMR is preferred
