About The Position

Wellhart is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Neurological Surgery for a locum tenens position in North Carolina. This exciting opportunity offers a 120-day assignment starting 05/19/2025, with 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, seven days a week. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in neurosurgery and be comfortable handling an average of 12 consults per day. The role involves first assisting surgeons on a PRN basis, supporting floor call, answering clinical questions, filling prescriptions, and order entry. This position also requires proficiency with Cerner EMR and offers a chance for extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Conduct an average of 12 neurosurgical consults per day
  • First assist surgeons on a PRN basis
  • Provide floor call support and answer clinical questions
  • Fill prescriptions and manage order entry
  • Utilize Cerner EMR system for patient documentation and care coordination
  • Collaborate effectively with neurosurgeons and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and safety
  • Adapt to a dynamic work environment in a surgical setting
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and work assignments


Additional Information:


  • Must be licensed to practice in North Carolina
