The RN Clinical Nurse is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team that delivers high-quality, individualized, and safe patient care. This role operates within a clinical environment led by Nurse Managers and supported by the WellStar Shared Governance Model.

Key Responsibilities:
Exemplary Practice and Outcomes:
Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practices.
Provide patient-centered care tailored to specific population characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) while respecting cultural diversity.
Engage with patients and their significant others using effective communication methods, ensuring their goals are central to the care plan.
Adhere to current clinical practice standards.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care, fostering interdisciplinary communication and a respectful work environment.
Demonstrate teamwork by being fiscally responsible and supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
Participate in performance improvement activities, research, and shared governance to enhance patient care.
Professional Development and Initiative:
Complete all required competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific training.
Serve as a preceptor or mentor for nursing staff and students, promoting professional practice and a healthy work environment.
Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
Promote evidence-based practices and nursing research, including participation in value analysis and decision-making for patient care products.
Adhere to healthcare system policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Engage in data collection and research to address clinical practice questions.
Resources and Support:
Plan patient care across the continuum and participate in protocol and procedure development.
Support the efficient use of human and material resources to achieve best practice outcomes.
Required Education:
Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
Required Licensure and Certification:
RN (Single State) or RN - Multi-State Compact.
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Instructor.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Instructor or ACLS - Provisional.
Additional Certification (Preferred):
National certification in specialty area upon hire.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of current experience in the specified area of practice.
Computer/data entry experience required; Epic and 3M experience preferred.
Required Skills:
Effective communication with healthcare team members.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and basic computer operations.
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies calmly and respectfully.
Excellent time management, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
