Pay Range: $24h - $28.85hr
Position Overview
The position requires the use of computer technology and mathematical skill to prepare an estimation of the amount of material needed for the construction of a home in accordance with Company policies.
Essential Job Duties:
- Estimates the quantity of materials needed for Siding, roofing, gutters, & decking for residential home construction according to company policy and local building code.
- Assists Account Coordinators as needed with customer orders and materials lists.
- Review actual vs. estimated materials on completion of each project.
- Complies with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- Check builder purchase orders (POs) against internal pricing sheets and specifications for multiple markets.
- Look for variations in lolot-specific plans versus bid plans. Correct bid per changes and notify the Estimating Manager and Senior Estimator.
- Assist in obtaining and reviewing plan changes on items from builder after contract awarded.
- Assist with approving materials and ordering.
- Other duties as assigned by location management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum education preferred-Technical Degree in engineering or related area.
- Minimum experience required-2 or more years of construction and building materials related experience.
Special skills required:
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials.
- Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to operate Microsoft Windows-based networked computer systems and specialized software application programs and instruct others in the effective use of application software (including Microsoft Excel).
- Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
Special Knowledge required:
- Understanding of measurements and basic algebraic math principles.
- Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time, standing and walking, bending or stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
