Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) for a high-impact locum tenens opportunity in Nags Head, North Carolina. Located along the scenic Outer Banks, this opportunity offers consistent night coverage, a supportive hospital environment, and the chance to make a difference in a critical access facility with full specialty support.

Opportunity Details:

• Location: Nags Head, NC

• Contract Type: Locum Tenens – Emergency Medicine Physician

• Facility Type: 19-Bed Critical Access Hospital

• Start Date: May 22–23 (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Ongoing Coverage:

  • June 5 – August 31: Every other week, Thursday–Sunday (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

  • June 13 – September 8: Every other week, Friday–Monday (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Shift Type: Overnight Only

• EMR System: EPIC

Position Overview:

• Inpatient ED coverage, no call required

• Average volume: ~100 visits/day (1.8 patients/hour)

• ICU and critical care duties included

• Emergency physicians must respond to all codes

• After-hours admissions handled by hospitalists

• Full scope of emergency medicine procedures required

Candidate Requirements:

• Licensure: Active North Carolina Medical License and Unrestricted DEA

• Board Certification: ABEM preferred; ABFM, ABIM, and ABPS accepted with required emergency experience

• Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS

• Experience: Proficiency in critical care and standard ED procedures required
