The Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program, in our Howmet Engineered Structures (HES) business unit, will include engaging and impactful project or projects, lunch & learns presented by organizational leaders, tours of our manufacturing plants & processes, networking opportunities and social activities to connect with fellow interns.  Interns will work 40 hours a week and paid competitively. The internship is approximately 12 weeks. 

Position will be working closely with Technical Procurement Director to help utilize engineering skills to analyze critical equipment across the Business Unit.

The Procurement Engineering Intern will be responsible for:

  • Work on major equipment component 3D modeling, redesign, and FEA analysis on Hydraulic Forging Presses, Hydraulic Extrusion Presses, and Titanium Rolling Mills across Howmet’s HSS locations.
  • Support spare part analysis efforts. 
  • Support smart manufacturing by identifying equipment health sensors and technology partners. 
  • Support capital upgrades and technical RFQs (Request For Quotes) across businesses

This role with require some travel within Ohio between Cleveland, Niles, and Canton locations in which you will be compensated for. 


  • Must be enrolled in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from accredited institution 
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Must be familiar with 2D drawing software (AutoCAD)
  • Must be familiar with 3D modeling software (AutoCAD Inventor or Solidworks).
  • Must be familiar with FEA analysis software (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or equivalent).
