The US Oncology Network within McKesson’s US Pharmaceutical (USP) Segment is seeking to accelerate the impact and outcomes of our businesses by bringing on a Senior Director, Strategic Operations  

 

Strategic Operations Services is an internal advisory function within The US Oncology Network that partners with operational leadership and other key stakeholders to execute on the strategic objectives of the organization and to meet the complex needs of the patients that we serve.  

You will support efforts to identify leading practices, improve processes, enhance systems, and realign the organization to realize opportunities. These programs are high visibility projects sponsored by The US Oncology Network leadership. 

Specifically, as a director, you will help leadworkstreams within the context of a larger effort, gathering and analyzing information, formulating, and testing hypotheses, and developing actionable recommendations. You will help present findings to senior stakeholders, implement recommendations, and begin to build long-term trusted advisor relationships with counterparts.  

The ideal candidate will be curious, analytical, and confident, with a natural drive to exceed immediate project requirements. A genuine passion for transformation, combined with relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills will be key to success. 

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain trusting relationships with key stakeholders 

  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, financial projections, and project implementation plansincluding risk mitigation 

  • To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments 

  • In this role you will support delivery enablement of core solutions and processes at a practice level, including supporting technology, process, and resourcing transformation.   

  • Whilst you will be able to champion change and take on and drive new ideas, you will also be able to balance adoption of the operating model at a sustainable pace across all groups consistently and evenly 

  • As the success of this role is based on outcome delivery, you will have the experience and courage to make decisions with our operational leaders and vendor partners on operating model principles and practices 

  • Exhibits leadership throughout the lifecycle of program/project by meeting customer expectations.  

  • Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, key stakeholders and management on all aspects of programs/projects. 

  • Manages internal/external communications and provide regular project updates to Sr. Leadership

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12+ years professional expertise in both clinical and operations management
  • Based in the Northeast with the with ability to travel to Tri-State locations regularly (NJ, MA and CT)

Education

  • MBA, MHA, or graduate degree strongly preferred
Critical Skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen, ability to evaluate financial reports and develop operational assumptions and financial projections for project outcomes
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, organize work effectively and take initiative in a fast paced work environment
  • Must possess strong business and technical writing abilities
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and the ability to visually represent data and articulate it effectively in a business case context is required.
Additional Skills
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to work with and influence senior leaders
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to make connections across workstreams and matrixed organizations
  • Superior project management skills with demonstrated experience successfully managing a cross functional or cross-departmental team on a complex project
  • Ability to generate and execute creative ideas related to making communications engaging and distinctive
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively and professionally navigate tough situations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team, but also be a self-starter
  • Excellent proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel

Travel

Approximately 70%-60% (See geography above)

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$147,500 - $245,900
