MCR Safety, a Bunzl company is now hiring for a Collection Supervisor to join our Credit/ Collections-Finance department based at our headquarters office in Collierville, TN.  The Collection Supervisor is to perform and oversee performance metrics on all phases of collections & account servicing for an assigned portion of the customer account aging.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with customers, sales staff, managers and officers in a professional manner.
  • Assess account aging for past dues and perform collections activities including negotiating payment schedules using discretionary judgment.
  • Analyze account aging for changes in payment trends or other activities that may indicate additional credit risk and adjust account blocking status as needed.
  • Evaluate credit hold status and release of orders using discretionary judgment.
  • Manage communication with sales, customer service, & collectors on escalated account issues from the collectors.  Escalate continued trouble accounts to Credit & Collection Manager in timely manner.
  • Make credit limit increase/decrease recommendations based on monitoring customer payment trends.
  • Report key metrics to Credit and Collections Manager monthly and recommend remediation actions.
  • Manage Sidetrade activity to ensure timely contact with all customers.
  • Assign and measure direct reports’ metrics in line with the company goals.
  • Manage direct reports’ time off approvals ensuring proper coverage.
  • Perform interviews, hiring recommendations, termination documentation, new employee training & 90 day review, and year end reviews.
  • Perform multiple tasks at once and practice effective time management.
  • Perform back-up tasks during absences of other department personnel.
  • Assist auditors during reviews related to credit and account issues.
  • Perform special projects & additional tasks as needed.

Requirements:          

  • Business or related degree preferred.
  • 3-5 Years of high volume Business to Business or Commercial Credit experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Must have working knowledge of Windows and Word / Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills     required.
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Very effective organizational & multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize job functions and demonstrate flexibility in performing essential functions.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
