Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Principal Network Systems Engineer – Network Team Lead (25-121) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Colorado Springs, CO and Schriever Space Force Base. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities. Essential Functions: In this role the candidate will serve as a Network Team Lead. As a Network Team Lead, the candidate will coordinate planning, organization, and execution of engineering activities for development of assigned technical capabilities integrated into the C2BMC Network Enterprise. The candidate will work within an agile team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements. Candidate will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and presenting KPIs and other metrics related to the Network Enterprise. May function in project leadership roles and represents the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts. This position is accountable for the overall engineering technical, cost and schedule performance of the capability. The candidate is expected to maintain clear and open communication with program and engineering management regarding status, Earned Value Management (EVM), staffing needs, program risks, and other relevant program and engineering metrics. The candidate will drive the use of best practices within the engineering team using Agile processes, tools and frameworks and will review capability artifacts and development practices for compliance with engineering principles, company and program standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. – Works with Development Engineers and Release Train Engineers to develop schedule, technical and cost performance of the capability Provide input to standard metrics packages to be used for program execution status, technical improvement, and management/customer status updates Management of risk mitigation activities, schedule planning, and managing change requests associated with the capabilities Preparation and presentation of internal and external communications, including but not limited to In Process Reviews (IPRs), Integrated Engineering Technical Reviews (IETRs), and bi-weekly status meetings for program management and customer representatives Manage the lifecycle of negotiated and assigned ECP effort(s) added to the capability Coordinate and resolve multiple spiral and capability resource de-confliction across the Agile Release Train (ART)and with other program ARTs Lead ART planning activities to ensure priority and maturity is achieved Participation in ART-level Agile ceremonies, including daily stand ups, sprint planning, team backlog refinement, and retrospectives It is expected that this candidate will achieve long term goals as the responsible Capability Owner with limited oversight by program and engineering management. Maintain the Hive structure for the team and keep up to date on a daily basis.
