Northrop Grumman’s Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) is seeking a Sr Principal Mission Architect Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. You will be responsible for: Supporting on-orbit-test, test scenario planning, and operations throughout all planning, execution, and debrief phases Providing Space Operations expertise to ensure spacecraft/payload and ground system health, status, anomaly troubleshooting, and anomaly-resolution Creating and/or providing initial and post-maneuver orbit determination The development and improvement of on-orbit system-test procedures Performing demonstrations and conducting briefings explaining test procedures and processes Providing on-console operational support and aiding in the investigation and diagnosis of unexpected system signatures Coordinating, reviewing, editing, and delivering contract deliverable documents (CDRL). Communications with customer, user, and test community to ensure integration of test objectives and requirements. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM Degree with minimum of 8 years of experience in a related engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace and/or operations Must have U.S. Citizenship with active or current Top Secret/SCI Clearance at time of application Strong technical background in orbital mechanics/astrodynamics/RPO Knowledge and experience in satellite operations engineering disciplines to include attitude control, power management, thermal control, propulsion, command and data handling, flight and ground software, and anomaly determination and resolution Experience with developing and presenting briefing slides to senior leaders and executive level personnel Be able to make decisions under high-pressure environments and maintain composure in stressful situations Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems in a dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience in RPO mission design and satellite ground software Have an extensive knowledge of different astrodynamics coordinate frames such as ECI and RIC Experience with optimization techniques and their application for trajectory optimization and/or multi-objective optimization Prior aerospace-related work experience for a U.S Government Agency or Contractor Background/fundamental understanding of performing statistical analysis
