This position will be at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities. The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications Experimentation Laboratory (C2BMC X-Lab) is fast-paced and dynamic. The X-Lab is responsible for developing and integrating future-capability prototypes for the Missile Defense System, including providing Mission Data Services, Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies. This position will focus on integrating Mission Data Services and R&D systems into C2BMC and will contribute to other ongoing X-Lab projects as needed. Essential Functions: Development of software to support Mission Data Services for both X-Lab and C2BMC Global organizations. Plan experiments and objectives, assemble and lead small teams to create software products, and verify achievement of goals—development of new prototype capabilities for potential future integration into the operational C2BMC System. Assist with planning, scheduling, and development of verification analysis tools and verify experiment objectives using real-world, flight test, or simulated data. Ensure proper backup/archiving and documentation of experiment plans, test products, and analysis datasets. This full-time position is located on Schriever SFB and is not a remote work position. Occasional off-hours work may be required to support flight tests. The SW Engineer should be comfortable with rapidly changing requirements, design challenges that require novel solutions, fast-paced activities, and tight deadlines.
