Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer/Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will support a growing portfolio of programs and IRADs that focus on missile defense, space, and intelligence and will support various modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) project teams in evaluating the mission performance of military systems. This position is contingent on contract award. Domestic travel (up to 10%) may be required, dependent on program needs. This position will specifically focus on the development and analysis of models and simulations utilizing the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) Framework. Basic Qualifications (Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer) Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 2 years of related experience OR Master of Science in a STEM field and 0 years of related experience. Active DoD Secret Clearance. Experience using Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) to inform the development of systems along the left side of the “Systems Engineering Vee”. Experience using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies to interpret complex data sets. Experience reading and interpreting systems engineering models using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML). Comfortable communicating technical information to technical and non-technical customers. Experience mentoring and developing junior-level engineers. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic Qualifications (Principal Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer) Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 5 years of related experience OR Master of Science in a STEM field and 3 years of related experience. Active DoD Secret Clearance. Experience using Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) to inform the development of systems along the left side of the “systems engineering vee”. Experience using Python, MATLAB, SQL, or related technologies to interpret complex data sets.
