Position Overview: Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a highly skilled Sr Principal Engineer Systems – Global SE Interface Engineer (25-074 & 25-075) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is part of the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. The program is a vital operational system that enables strategic planning and management of networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability, optimizing responses to threats across all phases of flight. Essential Functions: Developing and updating XML schemas (.xsd files) to support multiple Interface Control Documents (ICDs) Collaborate with various ICD authors and participate in numerous technical working groups to apply knowledge of the system domain and interface exchange requirements Must have a working knowledge of XML and proficiency in XML Spy Attend interface working group meetings with MDA customers and representatives of assigned external element engineering organizations, as well as support program integration and test-related efforts for the associated interface Assist other interface engineers in developing ICDs for other BMDS Elements, XML schema development, requirements engineering, use case development, and logical architecture modeling tasks as SE department tasking dictates Support spiral leadership to ensure interface artifacts and system assessment tasks required for the assigned sensor interface are completed when needed Mid-career experience performing pre-PDR systems engineering for DoD Information Systems Must be able to function as part of an experienced team in developing systems engineering products and artifacts while adhering to the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) program and other processes.
