Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Engineer Test – Global Test & FQT Lead (25-022) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

The Test & FQT Lead provides overall leadership and guidance to the Test and Analysis teams during the execution of all Global Test Events, including end-of-year demonstrations and FQTs. Ultimately, the Test and FQT Lead is responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of all tests in which the C2BMC-Global ART/TO60 team participates.

Essential Functions:

  • Works closely with our government customer in support of the MDA's Integrated Master Test Plan, including the development of test objectives, architectures, and all event planning
  • Responsible for establishing test teams and coordinating with lab managers, MDIOC support resources, operations groups, and other external elements
  • Support all required boards, customer meetings, etc.
  • Review and approve all test artifacts, including test plans, test reports, configuration items, CDRLs, etc
  • Provide oversight of the Data Management group and all data management functions
  • Technical advisor to the Global EPM and TO60 Solution Chief
  • Supports all proposal activities
  • Must have excellent written and oral presentation skills and a proven record of collaborating with senior customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a related discipline and 10 years of related experience or 16 years of related experience instead of a degree
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued TSI/SCI security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
  • Assist with the organization and participation in Segment FQT events, preparation for software capability delivery for Flight and Ground Tests, as well as overall test capability events that span the duration of the PoP
  • Must have proven integration and test experience on large-scale DoD or Missile Defense Agency systems
  • Must understand command and control concepts and have experience integrating and testing with other external systems
  • Must possess the technical skills to lead the System Test execution team (consisting of Event Mission Directors) within the Missile Defense System (MDS) Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program
  • Responsible for planning, executing, and reporting MDS ground and flight tests
  • Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills, enabling them to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, including our government customer, other National Team product teams, and external elements
  • Must have extensive Test Background to include all components of the C2BMC Testing Lifecycle
  • Experience in project management and Systems Engineering

Salary Range: $141,400 - $212,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
