Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager or designee, the Meal Service Representative provides customers (patients and cafeteria) with high quality service.
Job Functions:
Accurately assembles patient trays to provide maximum patient safety.
Delivers patient trays in a friendly and courteous manner. Follows patient identification protocol to ensure patient safety.
Adheres to protocol related to patient privacy and respect including knocking on doors before entering patient rooms.
Performs general kitchen sanitation duties.
Assists with the cafeteria meal service to provide exceptional food and service to all customers.
Washes dishes and performs other duties in the dishroom including putting items away.
Works safely, adhering to safety rules within the department and other areas of the hospital.
Respects hygiene and universal precautions requirements.
Promotes Service Excellence.
Performs minimal food preparation, as needed.
Inventories and stocks supplies.
Performs retail operations cashiering.
Maintains and supports patient’s rights to care, privacy and respect.
Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications
 Education
  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
 Experience
  Previous experience strongly preferred.
 Licensure and/or Certification
  None required.
 Skills
  Demonstrated safe and sanitary working practices. o Ability to maintain confidential information.
  Excellent customer service skills.
  Ability to interact with patients, employees, family members, staff, and other customers in a positive,
  hospitable manner.
  Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions and meal tickets.
  Computer skills to check Hospital e-mail and perform other training and mandatory requirements.
  Ability to maintain confidential information.
  Numerical ability with skills to use the cash register/collect money.
  Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
