Job Description:
The RN Charge Nurse is a professional RN who assists in planning, decision making, and developing the nursing staff. The RN Charge Nurse is effective in managing and coordinating the performance of the unit through interdisciplinary collaboration. As a member of the healthcare team he/she contributes to a collaborative working relationship with the nursing unit, toward the end of providing high quality patient care, ensuring patient safety, and a positive patient experience. BSN – Required:
-->As of 08/17/22, existing Charge Nurses with ADNs are grandfathered in and will not be required to obtain BSN but will be encouraged.
-->ADN Internal applicants may apply, must be enrolled in BSN program. If hired, completion must be within 2 years of start of the program. If BSN not obtained within designated time frame, will need to stepdown from role.
National Certification: Specialty Certifications - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center – Preferred
Experience:
2 years Nursing - Acute Care - Required
Previous Charge Nurse, Relief Charge Nurse, or related experience required within the last 2 years
1000 hours Nursing - Medical/Cardiac or Telemetry - Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Non-core Requirement
Certifications/Licensures:
RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Registered Nursing – Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association – Required
OCBC ONS_ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate - ONS Oncology Nursing Society - NON-CORE – Required within 18 months of hire date or transfer date
Skills:
Non-Core:
Must be competent to care for oncology and palliative care patients within 3 months.
Must be competent to care for patients with oncologic emergencies within 12 months.
Must meet clinical core qualifications within 18 months.

08.0 - 23:00 - 07:30 No Waive (United States of America)Pay Range:
$82.56 - $111.23HourlyNote: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
