Job Description:

The Outpatient registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Behavioral Health Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN performs the initial screening of patients for potential admission. Coordinates admissions with accepting physicians and maintains ongoing contact with referral sources. Coordinates financial arrangements with Business Office and pre-authorizes treatment prior to patient admission. Conducts community educational seminars as needed. The RN coordinates and provides patient care in partnership and collaboration with medical staff and the interdisciplinary care team during a patient’s treatment at John Muir Behavioral Health’s Partial Hospital or Intensive Outpatient Program.

Education:

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing -Required

Experience:

  • Nursing - Psychiatry or

  • Behavioral Health - Inpatient Preferred

  • 2 year Behavioral Health- Chemical Dependency or Behavioral Health –Psychiatric Crisis setting- Required

Certifications/Licensures:

  • RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required

  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required

  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training – John Muir Health – Required within 60 days of hire and every 24 months  (or within 30 days of return from leave of absence)

Work Shift:

08.0 Per Diem No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$76.74 - $103.61Hourly

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.

Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
