What Is the Opportunity?

AAA is looking for adjusters with prior auto claims experience or subrogation experience.Ā  Someone that can provide quality claim handling throughout the subrogation claim life cycle including maintaining full compliance with internal and external quality standards and state specific regulations. Job Description

The Subrogation Adjuster evaluates and pursues subrogation with adverse carriers to maximize recoveries.Ā Ā  Must have the ability to determine, develop and negotiate the theory of liability with Third Party carriers, attorneys, and uninsured motorists, as well as resolve files in accordance with company objectives and applicable state regulations.

What you will do:

  • Communicate and interact with a variety of individuals including insureds and claimants.Ā  Explain benefits, coverages, fault and claims process either verbally or in writing in compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Pursues subrogation claims and administers the subrogation recovery process to negotiate settlements and maximize recovery opportunities
  • Review evidence required supporting property damage subrogation activity on claims in accordance with policy contract, corporate claims policy and state regulations
  • Achieve / maintain company recovery goals
  • Maintain overall proper compliance with all applicable state regulations
  • Submit and respond to arbitrations
  • Negotiate within settlement authority with insureds and claimants to resolve their first- and third-party claims
  • Verify and interpret/resolve coverage by gathering necessary information to ensure policy applicability.Ā  Coordinate with internal and external department as required
  • Handle administrative functions, update database production reports, and document and update claims files via company system

What you bring:

  • Four-year college degree and/or work experience including a minimum of 2 to 4 years of auto insurance company subrogation collection, liability determination or other collections experience
  • Ability to obtain a Texas and New Mexico P&C License is required
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment managing multiple priorities
  • Analytical Thinking and Judgment / Decision Making
  • Proficiency with MS Office and industry-related software preferred
  • Advanced organization and planning recognition skills required
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills required
  • Advanced interpersonal skills required
