Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing Auto Club Enterprises (ACE) emergency management and business continuity programs; developing and maintaining emergency operations plans, working with various departments enterprise-wide to develop and maintain up-to-date business continuity plans; developing and conducting emergency and business continuity training and exercises; maintaining the readiness of ACE's Emergency Operations Center and emergency equipment/supplies; and responding to emergency and business continuity incidents.


Job Duties

  • Writes, maintains, reviews and updates ACEā€™s Emergency Operations and Business Continuity Plans to ensure plans are up-to-date and recovery strategies are appropriate to ensure the business can continue in the event of a disruption.
  • Manages ACEā€™s Emergency Response Team (ERT) and trains the ERT in accordance with Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) guidelines and practices.
  • Manages the development of exercises, such as tabletop, functional and full-scale, for ACEā€™s ERT, Crisis Management Team (CMT) and business continuity recovery teams; conducts exercises to test effectiveness; and prepares After-Action Report (AAR) summarizing findings.
  • Assures continued awareness of ACEā€™s Emergency Management and Business Continuity Program through ongoing training and other outreach methods.
  • Identifies and implements methods for tracking threats/risks to ACEā€™s operations.
  • Communicate regularly with executive management and staff officers as to the state of the Clubā€™s business continuity and emergency management programs.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
  • Position exercises discretion and independent judgment in problem solving and decision making, which intenisfies in the event of a disaster. Beyond general staff management, position makes decisions and recommendations on where best to direct corporate resources in the event of unanticipated interruptions in business operations, including staff working and housing locations and redirection of telecommunication and data systems resources.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4-6 years Emergency management and business continuity, Required
  • Ability to analyze and quickly react to emergency situations while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Proofreading and editing skills and must be detail oriented.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other related applications.
  • High-level organizational and planning skills so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately; must be able to set priorities, take initiative and exercise sound independent judgment.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently without extensive direction or oversight.
  • Creative, strategic thinker dedicated to quality service.
  • Excellent oral and written skills and an ability to effectively communicate ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, balance numerous and diverse operations, as well as possess the ability to work well with all levels of employees and management required.
  • Valid Driver's License, acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles record and minimum liability insurance - Issued by State Required
  • Candidates with a background in the military or law enforcement are highly encouraged to submit their applications.
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional - Disaster Recover Institute International Required
