Actuary Trainee

The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking an Actuary Trainee to join our Product Management team.  This role will be responsible for the overall development and management of assigned insurance product and programs. This includes monitoring and evaluating profitability, retention, and growth performance and communicating directly to Product Managers and other Management the progress against targeted goals.

Please Note: These are hybrid roles and will require three days in the office per week. You must reside within driving distance of our corporate office in Costa Mesa CA.

What You’ll Do:

  • You will gather and analyze data about our state’s insurance products (RI & CT, Auto, Home and Umbrella), Customer needs, Market trends and Product performance.

  • You’ll perform data gathering, calculations and report preparation to support actuarial projects.

  • You will learn new systems and in general perform activities that expand knowledge of actuarial science and the insurance business.

  • You’ll provide data-driven insights that inform product strategy and decision-making.

  • You will serve as a bridge between data and the product manager.

  • You’ll perform market research and competitive analysis while also monitoring product metrics. 

What You’ll Need:

  • Four-year college degree in marketing, business, management, finance, quantitative or technical field (math, statistics, and computer science).

  • Ability to compile, analyze and interpret statistical data.  

  • Advanced ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.

  • Intermediate computer skills with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Tableau and SQL knowledge is critical. 

  • Ability to learn and use other database programs.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$67,600.00 - $90,000.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
