Corporate Counsel Transactional

The successful candidate will be an experienced transactional attorney joining the Insurance and Membership legal team, which provides a broad range of legal support to the product, marketing, ebusiness, sales, and procurement units of the Auto Club.

Responsibilities

  • Review, negotiate and draft a wide variety of complex commercial contracts in support of membership, travel, and insurance operations

  • Conduct research regarding legal and compliance issues across motor club, membership, insurance, travel and a range of products and services

  • Translate complex laws and regulations into practical business solutions to help internal stakeholders drive the completion of business initiatives

  • Provide accurate, timely, and practical advice on legal issues and risks, company policies and business strategy

  • Build strong relationships with internal business partners and work as part of cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization

  • Support continuous improvement of the legal team by identifying and implementing new processes, contract templates, playbooks, and training materials

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of law firm or in-house experience

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry preferred

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and current member of the California State Bar in good standing or eligible to practice as a California registered in-house counsel

  • Ability to interact well with wide range of internal and external professionals

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Adept at handling multiple complex matters efficiently and concurrently

  • Creative, resourceful and strategic thinker

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized and detail oriented

The starting pay range for this position is:

$156,500.00 - $208,100.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
