The successful candidate will be an experienced transactional attorney joining the Insurance and Membership legal team, which provides a broad range of legal support to the product, marketing, ebusiness, sales, and procurement units of the Auto Club.
Responsibilities
Review, negotiate and draft a wide variety of complex commercial contracts in support of membership, travel, and insurance operations
Conduct research regarding legal and compliance issues across motor club, membership, insurance, travel and a range of products and services
Translate complex laws and regulations into practical business solutions to help internal stakeholders drive the completion of business initiatives
Provide accurate, timely, and practical advice on legal issues and risks, company policies and business strategy
Build strong relationships with internal business partners and work as part of cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization
Support continuous improvement of the legal team by identifying and implementing new processes, contract templates, playbooks, and training materials
Qualifications
5+ years of law firm or in-house experience
Knowledge of the insurance industry preferred
J.D. from an accredited law school and current member of the California State Bar in good standing or eligible to practice as a California registered in-house counsel
Ability to interact well with wide range of internal and external professionals
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Adept at handling multiple complex matters efficiently and concurrently
Creative, resourceful and strategic thinker
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organized and detail oriented

The starting pay range for this position is:
$156,500.00 - $208,100.00Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
