Retirement Services Supervisor

The Retirement Services team is responsible for administering the pension and 401(k) plans for the ACE organization, which includes over 15,000 participants in the 401(k) plan and over 22,000 participants in the pension plan.  The primary responsibility for this position will be the day-to-day supervision and management of the Retirement Services team which is a sizable team of professionals who administers these plans.  

Administration of the Pension and 401(k) plan includes pension calculations, 2nd calculations, commencements, plan interpretation and plan amendments, working closely with our external actuarial firm, developing co-sourcing arrangement, handling a Workday-IPAS integration, data remediation, data digitization, managing calculation backlogs, valuation work, working with auditing, investment and accounting personnel, and internal ERISA counsel, plan amendments, government filings, Summary Plan Description reviews, 401k wires, reconciliations of payroll contributions, non-discrimination testing, participant communications, responding to audit requests, Total Rewards Statements and other various duties.  This person will also be responsible for handling executive pension and 401(k) matters.  A successful applicant will have experience working with pension plan(s) and have at least a basic understanding of IRS, DOL, and ERISA regulations.    

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ combined experience in administration of Pension  plans, 401(k) Defined Contribution plans, Benefits and/or Finance

  • Must have experience in pension calculations

  • Managerial/supervisory experience a plus

  • Experience with WORKDAY is a plus but not required

  • Ability to delegate tasks and manage productivity

  • Works well with teammates, internal and external partners including vendors

  • Knows when to reach out for assistance and leverages subject matter experts to solve problems and administer plans

  • Basic understanding of IRS, DOL, and ERISA regulations regarding pension and 401(k)

  • Experience working with actuaries, 401k trustees, legal counsel and auditors preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Microsoft Access experience is a plus

  • IPAS or People Engine/Workday experience is a plus

  • Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and complete duties with a sense of urgency

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle a heavy workload

  • Candidate must possess excellent communication skills as this position will be working with all levels of management as well as plan participants

  • Strong vendor management skills including contracting, metrics, issue resolution, budget management, and driving continuous improvement

The starting pay range for this position is:

$94,900.00 - $126,500.00
