Product Engineer- Process Instrumentation

Position Objective:
As a Product Engineer (PE), you will collaborate with a Product Manager to manage and grow a product line in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. You will act as the technical authority on products such as process sensors, temperature controls, and signal conditioners, working closely with suppliers to drive all aspects of product development, evaluation, and lifecycle support. The PE also serves as a servant leader, working cross-functionally with both internal and external teams to ensure the success of the product line.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your expertise to select and support the development of products that meet customer needs and enhance the product line
- Own product management across the entire product lifecycle
- Conduct evaluations and testing of new products and technologies
- Provide support for new product launches, including documentation, training, and second-tier backline support during business hours
- Lead lifecycle projects aimed at improving product quality or reducing costs
- Evaluate suppliers based on product offerings, technology roadmaps, support capabilities, and packaging standards
- Some domestic and international travel will be required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred, or at least 10 years of related experience
- Minimum of 7 years' experience (10 years preferred) in the industrial automation or OEM manufacturing sectors, with a focus on process instrumentation
- Hands-on experience with product applications, control system integration, calibration, configuration, technical support, and/or product design involving process sensors (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level), temperature controls, and signal conditioners
- Relevant experience in related markets, such as building automation or medical equipment, may be considered
- Familiarity with industrial control products such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, safety products, and power solutions is a plus
- Experience with agency approvals (UL, CSA, CE, RoHS) is desirable
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is preferred
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Must be a self-starter capable of managing projects independently and meeting deadlines while maintaining excellent interpersonal skills
