Marine Logistics Coordinator Job Summary

The Marine Logistics Coordinator ensures the safe and efficient movement of tugboats and barges delivering petroleum products across the U.S. This role involves managing vessel schedules, coordinating deliveries with agents, and serving as the main contact for vessel crews, customers, and partners.

Marine Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Scheduling: Manage vessel schedules across multiple ports, update logistics software, coordinate with vessel agents, cargo terminals, and trade partners, and ensure smooth vessel movements with Operations/Engineering teams for maintenance and inspections.

  • Administrative: Input and track cargo/bunker orders, verify job completion for billing, and handle new customer nominations in the logistics system.

  • Customer Service: Communicate with customers, generate delivery schedules, provide support, resolve issues, and build strong relationships.

  • Vessel Support: Coordinate with vessel crews in real-time, solve problems, and handle emergency communications.

Marine Logistics Coordinator Position Requirements 

  • Associate’s degree (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a Maritime Academy (Strongly Preferred)
  • 1-2 years of logistics experience (Preferred)
  • Operational experience in the Maritime Industry (Preferred)
