The Sr. Associate, Operational Risk Strategic Initiatives Oversight is responsible for the oversight and project management of strategic initiatives encapsulated in the Operational Risk program for Santander US. This role necessitates a candidate who possesses strong experience in enterprise project and program management, Book of Work and financial planning, engagement and collaboration with a diverse array of stakeholders at all levels, and preparation/presentation of crucial business and risk management information catered to executive and regulatory audiences.
Executes project management activities for Strategic Initiative projects under the Operational Risk program’s remit. Projects may include the implementation and/or enhancement of risk management framework elements and processes, risk management IT solutions, regulatory matters and inquiries, department-wide activities, etc.
Plays an active role in the strategic direction of the Operational Risk program, including influencing the prioritization of new projects and enhancement of the Operational Risk program’s framework and processes
Maintains and monitors the Operational Risk program’s Book of Work, including associated financial and resource planning
Prepares and presents information to highlight the progression of Book of Work and Strategic Initiatives, raise issues and roadblocks for timely triage and resolution, and educate executive and regulatory audiences on the Operational Risk strategy and framework
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Finance, Management, or equivalent field.
Work Experience: 9+ years of enterprise Project Management experience.
PMP, Agile, and/or Scrum certification and experience preferred.
Strong competency in Jira software preferred.
Strong competency in preparing presentations for executive-level audiences.
Exposure to operational risk management principles, methodologies and tools, preferably in a financial services environment.
Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail required.
Ability to independently operate in a complex, matrixed environment; adept at delivering and maintaining productive working relationships across business, functions, geographies, and lines of defense.
Ability to direct, train and guide peers and management.
Ability to handle conflict resolution with other groups.
Ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances.
Ability to convey a sense of urgency and drive issues/projects to closure.
Ability to adapt and adjust to multiple demands and competing priorities.
