Director - AML Enhanced Due Diligence Program

The Santander AML Compliance team is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong understanding of compliance regulations and a proven track record of leading a team of investigators in managing complex due diligence investigations.

Responsibilities:

The Director –AML Enhanced Due Diligence Program will play a crucial role in safeguarding our company and clients from potential financial crimes by overseeing our Enhanced Due Diligence program.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Enhanced Due Diligence program to ensure compliance with financial crime regulations
  • Oversee a team of investigators responsible for conducting due diligence on high-risk clients and transactions
  • Monitor and analyze customer data to identify potential financial crime risks and take appropriate action to mitigate those risks
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the Enhanced Due Diligence program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Risk, and Compliance, to ensure alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of the Enhanced Due Diligence program to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments and changes in regulations related to financial crimes, and make recommendations for program enhancements accordingly
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on financial crime compliance policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Act as a subject matter expert on financial crime risk management, and provide guidance and support to other teams within the organization
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies and law enforcement, to stay informed of potential risks and collaborate on investigations as needed

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience


Work Experience:

  • 9+ years ; Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, or Financial Services.
  • Previous AML Experience, preferably in a managerial capacity


Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Financial Services rules and regulations.
  • Advanced experience and exposure working with regulatory driven deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Ability to build rapport, garnering respect and credibility across lines of business.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic financial services environments.
  • Ability to influence all levels of employees in a collaborative cross-cultural environment.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

$225,000.00 USD
