Requirements:
- Possess a valid Commercial Driverās License (CDL) and/or Class 3 Driver's license with a clear abstract.
- Minimum of one (1) year commercial truck driving experience.
- Ability to demonstrate safe driving and equipment operation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to mechanically collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities.
- Open container enclosures or gates to access cans and position 3-4-yard cans on castors for dumping as needed.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, completing and submitting vehicle condition reports.
- Courteously interact with customers and the general public, addressing questions or requests and notifying supervisors of any issues requiring management action.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety by cleaning loose trash off the truck and ground around the truck and container during the dumping process.
- Maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, utilizing mirrors for backing up.
- Utilize key maps and GPS to locate service addresses and follow safe operating practices, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Monitor operations to detect loose debris, visually scanning customer sites before and after dumping.
- Demonstrate physical capability to lift/move various weights according to job requirements.
- Adhere to all safety standards, equipment checks, and precautions, ensuring compliance with federal, state/provincial, local, and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
