The Spirit of the Position:
The Assistant Event Manager oversees the campus parking operation of the event(s), such as entertainment events, sporting events, and cultural events, under the direction of the Sr. Manager to ensure 24/7 professional event management. As a company devoted to promoting an employee-focused servant leadership culture, the Event Manager will support the programs and initiatives originating from our home office and help to support the individual needs of their operational teams throughout their assigned event (s).

Compensation $26.00/hour; non-tipped
Shift hours: The Assistant Event Manager must be available at all hours based on the event schedule.
Principal Job Duties:

- Oversee the Event department.
- Align processes, resource-planning, and department-specific goals with overall business strategy.
- Monitor key performance indicators and make operational adjustments when necessary to ensure success.
- Understand and ensure compliance with all requirements within contractual agreements between LAZ Parking and clients.
- Identify targeted areas of improvement and implement effective, data-driven solutions to improve the business.
- Assist in developing short—and long-term strategic plans based on event knowledge and data analysis to further the business’ vision.
- Prepare, track, and manage events and initiatives throughout the year, including task management, weekly update meetings, and issue escalation.
- Manage staff, including scheduling, assignments, payroll processing, coaching, and staff development.
- Work with Event Venue to track events that impact parking.
- Implement and complete projects, programs, and initiatives based on event needs.
- Organize and manage the oversight of event operations.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- 3 years in a management role.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and General Microsoft Office Applications.
- Parking and Event management experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to be flexible in schedule to meet operational needs. This may require occasionally working outside of regularly scheduled hours.

Physical Demands:
- Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.

- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.
