This position is a key member of the Learning & Development (L&D) department. L&D Training Specialists help oversee and lead the department ensuring employee onboarding, training classes, and learning management system are all functioning properly and efficiently. L&D Training Specialist also help with developing future training content and material.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is a PART-TIME position (30 hours per week average) with a $16.00 hourly payrate.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and coach staff on the L&D team as well as work in tangent with the Operations Supervisor of L&D and management
- Instruct and lead classes in both classroom and virtual settings for employees and front-line park leaders
- Organize, facilitate, and assist with trainings taught by other instructors or representatives
- Facilitate and lead Associate discussions, focus groups, and solo/group activities
- Provide class/course feedback to help refine and enhance park offerings
- Evaluate, coach, and mentor classroom trainers on their public speaking and teaching skills
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations/guidelines
- Assist the L&D team with the creation of training content as needed
- Assist with record keeping, auditing, payroll, and reporting for employee compliance with completing required classes/courses
- Help manage inventory stock levels, supplies, and their proper storage for the department
- Complete special projects as assigned by park leadership
- Motivate and instill in Associates positive service focused expectations and understanding
- Be a positive culture champion for the park and the Staff Services Division
- Properly coordinate and communicate with others including but not limited to park Associates, HR management, park leadership, and vendors.
- Assist in other areas of the Staff Services Division as needed as well as in the park if the business requires

Qualifications:

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Prior training, instructor, and/or public speaking required.
- Bachelor’s degree (or actively in progress) strongly preferred especially a degree in an educational, training, organizational, or business field.
- Prior leadership, supervision, or management experience a plus.
- Prior instructional design or class/course/presentation building a plus.
- Prior human resources or administrative experience a plus.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods as required to meet the needs of the business
- Must have strong presentation/public speaking skills as well as confidence with speaking in front of large groups for long periods of time
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills as well as ability to multi-task in completing several projects in tangent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (to include Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and have the ability to quickly learn computer based applications
- Problem solver who can formulate solutions and properly convey those solutions to leadership
- Flexible and willing to gain a broader knowledge of Human Resources procedures
- Ability to provide exceptional service when interacting with employees, coworkers, guests, and others
- Ability and confidence to coach, counsel, mentor, and influence staff, Associates, coworkers, park Leaders, and others
- Ability to work independently of constant supervision
- Ability to work in fast-paced and rapidly changing office/theme park environment
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
- Possess a current and valid driver's license and submit it upon request
