Job Summary

      The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the management of equipment spare parts, common maintenance tooling, daily/weekly/monthly reports, spare parts storage area, and preventive maintenance reporting. This role is best suited for someone who can demonstrate proficiency in organizational skills, Microsoft Excel, and a self-motivated attitude. Must become proficient with the software MP-2 and Fluke which all the work orders originate. This position will work with the Maintenance Supervisors and Operations leadership to support Production by managing the equipment inventory and assisting in the management of the preventive maintenance program.

  • Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles;
  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.

  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, not limited to:

  • Prepare the Preventative Maintenance work orders for the Maintenance team on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in the development of general Maintenance procedures and work instructions.
  • Responsible for requesting quotations for spare parts based on technical request from Engineering and Maintenance teams.
  • Schedule pump and part rebuilds, shipment, lead times and POs 
  • Review existing work orders and work instructions and compare with other sites, to optimize 
  • Transfer MP2 Data and assets to the new Fluke CMMS system 
  • Order and track spare parts requests in the on-site Purchasing system.
  • Organize and record all ordered, received, on hold, and cancelled requests such that the information can be readily retrieved and shared.
  • Able to create, utilize, and manipulate information in MS Excel to sort large amounts of data into a presentable format.
  • Maintain the database of Critical Equipment Spare Part and create identification tags for parts that are received in.
  • Manage the maintenance common tooling process.
  • Comfortable walking onto the Production floor to receive incoming spare parts and manage the spare parts storage area.
  • Gather data from multiple system sources and create re-occurring reports for the on-site management team.
  • Assist in the planning of Maintenance shut down jobs working with the Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Engineering team.
  • Manage consumable Preventive Maintenance spares / components as they are used throughout the year.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical system principles.
  • Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety, and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities          

  • Proficiency with MP-2, Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Excel.
  • Proficiency managing/organizing business inventory

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment or maintenance related field (Hydraulic Systems, CNC Machines, Water Jets, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, Welding, or Facilities/General Maintenance).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an office administrative position utilizing computer software to manage inventory and schedule business related operations.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • ​Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business or technical related fields.
  • 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or maintenance related field (Hydraulic Systems, CNC Machines, Water Jets, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, Welding or Facilities/General Maintenance)
  • 5 years of experience working in an office administrative position utilizing computer software to manage inventory and schedule business related operations
