East Peoria Embassy Suites is looking to grow its accounting team with the addition of an Accounting Assocaite. The ideal candidate will have one year of accounting experience, attention to detail and a willingness to learn and grow in their role.

You will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities and assignments:

  • Ensure the income audit, billing/collections, accounts payable, and daily cash deposits are completed; 

  • Handle confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity; 

  • Perform daily accounting and clerical functions to support hotel staff;  

  • Provide exceptional service to guests and Associates by promptly researching, tracking, and resolving accounting issues in a friendly manner;  

  • Ensure timely and accurate credit card and cash deposits;  

  • Monitor and report on cashier over/short procedures;  

  • Assist corporate accounting staff with month end tasks and/or research as requested;  

  • Ensure the hotels guests, city, and advance deposit ledgers are in balance with the general ledger daily; 

  • Utilize Excel, Workbooks, and Access to submit reports to corporate office as requested; and 

  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.  

What do we look for in someone to be successful in this role?

  • 1+ years accounting experience

  • Previous hotel accounting or Front desk hotel experience 

  • Engaging and friendly personality 

  • Microsoft Office knowledge

  • Ability to communicate effectively 

  • Ability to perform the following tasks: 

    • Able to lift 10lbs regularly

    • Able to bend and squat repeatedly

    • Able to walk, stand, or sit for duration of scheduled shift
