Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Principal Support Equipment Engineer to our team in El Segundo, CA.

What you will get to do:

  • Plans and executes schedules for engineering design package development and release to meet mission needs
  • Develop engineering solutions to meet the support equipment needs of the end user
  • Technical impact assessment, planning and strategy for change implementation
  • Travel required up to 25% of time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field with 5 years of experience; or master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of experience; or PhD with 0 years of experience
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR).
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Experience with CATIA and familiarity with the TeamCenter release tool
  • Understand all aspects of equipment development, encompassing all phases of design, including concept and detailed design development, CAD modeling efforts, documentation release, fabrication, integration, and testing
  • Ensure pertinent design factors such as contractual, environmental, cost, schedule, technical performance, system integration, producibility, interchangeability, and material requirements are considered during development and program execution
  • Ability to understand engineering challenges, coordinate with NG Engineering team in identifying paths for engineering solutions for support equipment
  • Ability to take complex technical challenges and decomposing the information into chart packages to brief to program management & leadership team
  • Experience with engineering, manufacturing, and development life cycle
  • Familiarity with Microsoft suite of tools (PowerPoint, excel, word, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with multiple organizational disciplines
  • Presentation experience with the ability to present technical solutions to program management, other technical managers, and customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and Support Equipment.
  • CAM or Earn Value Management System (EVMS) experience
  • Experience with JIRA, CPLM, or other configuration management tools
  • Excellent technical writing skills, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
