Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics System sector is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership opportunity will be located in El Segundo, CA. This position will report to the Aeronautics Sector Environmental, Safety, Health & Medical (ESHM) Director and will be responsible for overall ESHM program management at the El Segundo site, including Fire Protection and the on-site Medical Clinic. Responsibilities include developing, interpreting, recommending, and complying with environmental, health and safety regulations and/or company policies. Assisting in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet new EHS regulations. Providing input to federal and state regulators through trade associations and industry groups for the writing and revision of regulations. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies. This position will also act as the lead for the AS Environmental Homeroom, fostering collaboration and sharing of best practices among the Environmental Engineering professionals at all AS sites. Specific functional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages Environmental, Safety, Health and Medical (ESHM) programs and staff for the El Segundo site. Engages with site and program leadership to foster ESHM culture across the site. Collaborates with sector ESHM Director and other site ESHM Managers to progress harmonization of company ESHM policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork with a focus on continuous improvement and employee development. Manages to site budget and identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Basic Qualifications: BS degree – Engineering, Environmental, Health, Safety, Physical Science or similar with at least 7 years of EHS experience 5+ years of leadership experience Must have strong management, coaching, and collaboration skills. Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently, multi-task with strong facilitation skills. Mid-level or higher proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
