Northrop Grumman is seeking a Director 1, Business Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. We are seeking a business unit Business Management Director to lead all business management activities associated with the Propulsion Systems & Controls (PS&C) business unit (BU). This position will be in Elkton, MD where the BU headquarters and leadership team reside. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems Sector. This position will report directly to the Division Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and support the PS&C business unit Director. This position is a trusted, key partner to the business unit director and will involve establishing strategy, managing resources, prioritizing requirements, and delivering financial results while ensuring the integrity of business processes. This role will lead the business unit business management team supporting external and internal customers. The ideal candidate must be proficient in developing and motivating a productive staff with excellent interpersonal, planning, presentation, and organizational skills with focused emphasis on continuous process improvement. The PS&C portfolio is diverse with a mix of external / internal customers, various contract types and scope. Interaction with senior leadership across NG will occur regularly due to the visibility of major programs and proposals within the portfolio. The candidate must have strong business acumen, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as demonstrated ability to work proactively within an extremely fluid environment. They will be required to be a trusted business partner, interface with applicable stakeholders (internal and external) and lead contract proposal to drive value creation and growth. Comprehending and analyzing complex problems, developing actionable solutions, and driving execution is a must! The successful candidate must possess an advanced understanding of financial reporting and planning, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), indirect rate management, estimates at complete (EAC), Earned Value Management (EVM), Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development, budgeting and forecasting to include Non-Contractual Technical Activity (NCTA), Capital expenditures, and inventory.
