EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Manager - Airline Technical Operations in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at the customer site in Atlanta, GA.  This customer-facing role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Control Center. Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the MCC team, including Maintenance Controllers and support staff.
  • Monitor and coordinate aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Manage maintenance schedules, resource allocation, and workload distribution.
  • Collaborate with the airline customer to prioritize maintenance tasks and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Handle escalated issues and incidents, making critical decisions when necessary.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities align with company policies and industry best practices.
  • Communicate with various stakeholders, including airline technical operations, aircraft and liaison engineering, and logistics personnel.
  • Analyze MCC performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations for MCC personnel.
  • Provide the Technology Development team technical and monitoring system requirements, such as dashboards, fault management, incident management, and reporting.
  • Training: Develop and maintain comprehensive training programs for MCC personnel, including Maintenance Controllers and Technical Support Personnel.
  • Documentation and Records Management: Create, organize, and manage documentation related to MCC processes, maintenance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • SLA and Reliability management:  Ensures that SLAs reliability reports are aligned with business objectives and regularly reviewed to meet changing requirements.
  • Develop clear, well-organized, and comprehensive processes and procedures to meet operational and business requirements.
  • Apply logical reasoning and critical thinking to deliver valuable insights and contributions.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Engineering or related field or combination of education, experience and/or military
  • 7+ years of leading a team
  • Previous experience in airline maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Aeronautical, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA or equivalent) and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using MCC software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Traveling required to meet the needs of the project scope

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
