We do this through a mix of delivery teams, operations functions, and corporate shared services like Architecture, End-to-End Test and Security.

 

As a Software Engineer IV, you will be responsible for deploying, automating, and troubleshooting platform as a service and implementing CI/CD pipelines for IaaS and CaaS, including troubleshooting system and data issues for lower and production environments. 

You will utilize your:

  • Expert level knowledge with Kubernetes, OS platforms, Linux, system administration, GitLab, Ansible and Terraform deployment and automation.
  • Experience building tools for automated deployment to establish and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab for automated testing, building, and deployment processes.
  • Proficiency in YAML, Helm, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and Python.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and virtual machines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

You will collaborate with the software development teams, APS to streamline and simplify the deployment process and serve as the first line of contact for highly complex lab and production issues.  In addition, you will support growing tenant request for resolving and supporting lab issues, build CI/CD pipelines for IaaS/CaaS environments, contribute on overall release workflow process and implement CI/CD pipelines accordingly as well as implement automation throughout the deployment process.

 

WHAT OUR SOFTWARE ENGINEER IV’s ENJOY MOST

  • Applying their experience in Infrastructure Deployments, Automation and Development on DevOps tools and processes, and Linux Administration.
  • Utilizing their expertise with containerization platforms like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cluster provisioning and security.
  • Applying their expert level knowledge with Kubernetes, GitLab, Ansible and Terraform deployment and automation, Splunk and Datadog.
  • Building tools for automated deployment.
  • Collaborating with other developers and infrastructure teams to deliver solutions.
  • Troubleshooting complex issues, debugging code, and analyzing logs to perform root cause analysis.
  • Working with on-prem environments (Vcenter) and Infrastructure-as-code.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Database management systems – 2-4+ years  
    • Coding, testing, and designing software – 2-4+ years
    • Software development methodologies – 2-4+ years
  • Education:
    • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical skills:
    • Demonstrated knowledge of one major programming language/tool
    • Demonstrated knowledge of coding language and syntax, usage of functions and object-oriented patterns
    • Demonstrated knowledge of environments, docker images, container runtimes, and cloud native app development
    • Demonstrated knowledge of dependent systems, e.g., up/downstream APIs, clients, data stores
    • Demonstrated knowledge of design patterns and software architecture patterns
  • Skills:
    • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
    • Functional negotiation skills
    • Showcases Project / Feature level work to their team and senior technical leadership
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
    • Ability to apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
    • Ability to break down assigned projects into manageable tasks and completes within a given timeframe
    • Ability to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
