COBOL PROGRAMMER ANALYST:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

In this role, you will have a specialty focus on COBOL programming. This includes providing support of existing applications written in COBOL, as well as developing new applications, processes, and procedures in COBOL using both legacy and newer methodologies. Additionally, as legacy files are transitioned to SQL tables, you will develop applications using embed SQL statements in the COBOL programs.  

To be successful in this position, you will need to have excellent decision-making skills, effective interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to present and discuss technical information to users, business partners, and I.T. team peers.

This position can be an in-house, remote, or hybrid position. Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Georgia, or Texas.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Proficiency in COBOL / XCOBOL coupled with HP NonStop with over three years’ experience.
  • Experience in SQL, SQLXpress, SOAP or REST APIs is a plus.
  • Experience developing and supporting online and batch COBOL applications.
  • Thorough knowledge of programming concepts, software development life cycle, system or data analysis, project management protocols, debugging and testing methods and tools.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Experience in identifying system requirements and specifications, and making necessary modifications accordingly.
  • Strong researching and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
  • Solid organizational and estimating skills, with the ability to complete projects within specific deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with high productivity.
  • Experience in heavy equipment industry software and business processes are a plus!

 

Compensation: $100,000-140,000/yr (Depending on Experience)
