The Senior Manager of Advanced Practice Provider Services, Education and Professional Development is responsible for the overall planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a portfolio of educational programs and professional development initiatives that support the Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in The US Oncology Network.

The Sr Manager will work collaboratively with clinical and administrative leaders to ensure that educational objectives and goals are met and to promote the professional growth and clinical excellence of APPs. Reports to Director, Advanced Practice Provider Services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Educational Program Development

  • Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive educational programs to enhance the clinical skills, knowledge, and competencies of APPs.
  • Develop and expand curricula and training materials/opportunities that align with current evidence-based practices and organizational goals
  • Manage an in-person APP Onboarding course three times a year and expand out surgical and subspecialty sessions
  • Budgetary management for educational initiatives
  • Develop tracking, evaluation, and outcomes measurement tools to assess the effectiveness/impact of projects

Professional Development

  • Create and support professional development opportunities for APPs to ensure continuous learning and career advancement.
  • Facilitate mentorship and coaching programs to support APP career progression

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders of practices to identify educational needs and priorities
  • Lead and participate in committees and workgroups related to APP practice and education
  • Assist with APP Optimization projects
  • Attend internal and external conferences, presenting work, and fostering partnerships with external organizations.

Minimum Requirement

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5 years of clinical oncology experiecne

Education

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or PA Studies

Certifications

  • National Board Certification and licensure (NP or PA)

Critical Skills

  • 2+ years of APP leadership or educational experience, preferred
  • Proven experience in curriculum development, precepting, and project management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational practices
  • Proficiency with MS Office

Travel

Ability for overnight travel to attend meetings and provide on-site assistance, estimated at 10-20%.
