Shortage Control - Cargo Claims Analyst

 

Description

 

In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to the Asset Protection Shortage Control team by researching instances of cargo loss and subsequent claim restitution opportunities. This position requires cross-functional collaboration with various internal and external teams including Fulfillment, Delivery, Customer Service, and 3PL providers. A strong analytical background is essential, as you will be expected to leverage numerous data insight sources to effectively decision and resolve delivery exceptions. Your ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate findings will be crucial in mitigating cargo loss and improving the overall customer experience. 

 

 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Analyze and interpret documentation to validate responses as they relate to cargo loss
  • Leverage Business Intelligence insights tools to analyze cargo loss
  • Cancel or release credit to customers based on research results
  • Work within established timeframes to complete claims research for both inbound and outbound shipments and respond to external customers and internal Staples analysts
  • Establish and maintain open communication with assigned courier and vendor teams as well as Staples internal and field management
  • Monitor the performance of courier POD Research compliance by supporting assigned courier contacts and escalating recurring issues to Management for resolution
  • Prepare and file claims with the highest level of accuracy
  • Conduct proof of delivery assurance audits
  • Ad hoc projects as needed
  • Ability to define, diagnose, and resolve problems using data insights, sound logic, and rationale
  • Ability to shift focus to address business needs
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze large amounts of data then draw accurate conclusions
  • Operate with a highly collaborative approach
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

 

 

What’s Required - Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-3yrs work experience in a related field (Claims, Transportation, Logistics/Supply Chain
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite – Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
