Vice President of Supply Chain – Healthcare

 

Innovative Renal Care is seeking a Vice President of Supply Chain to lead and direct supply chain operations for our dynamic healthcare organization. As the strategic leader in this critical role, you will oversee material management strategies, optimize procurement processes, and ensure efficient logistics and distribution of medical supplies. This position provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional to influence key decisions, manage high-performing teams, and drive cost-effective, innovative solutions in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Travel Requirement: Up to 20%.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Oversee the accuracy and health of inventory, ensuring the availability of essential medical supplies and pharmaceuticals while optimizing control systems to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Procurement: Build strong vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and source new suppliers to ensure timely procurement of high-quality products and services.
  • Logistics and Distribution: Coordinate transportation and distribution of medical supplies, ensuring regulatory compliance and optimizing logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Develop procurement strategies that align with company goals, evaluate current processes, and identify opportunities to minimize risks and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procured materials meet quality and regulatory standards. Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Partner with finance to develop procurement budgets and lead cost-saving initiatives that optimize resources and reduce overall expenditures.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Provide strong leadership to the supply chain team, setting goals and fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal stakeholders to align supply chain operations with organizational goals and ensure transparency and effective communication across departments.
  • Technology & Market Insight: Leverage supply chain management software to enhance efficiency and stay updated on industry trends to inform procurement strategies.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management within the healthcare industry (dialysis experience is a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience with a strong track record of success in supply chain operations.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain best practices, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements, particularly in pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
