Computer Hardware Engineer 

SimVentions, consistently voted one Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for an Computer Engineer to join our team. As a Computer Engineer at SimVentions, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of technical systems. You will have the chance to work on interesting projects and build your career.

Responsibilities: 

  • Learn and understand key concepts across engineering domains for tactical communication systems.
  • Communicate complex issues and solutions of tactical communication systems to support decision-making across a variety of technical and programmatic teams.
  • Assess antennas and radio signal processors, including beamforming calculations, RF performance, antenna controls, and electromagnetic interference.
  • Assess electrical design technical data packages, including schematic diagrams, circuit card drawings, wire run lists, and printed circuit board drawings, such as Gerber and Altium Files.

Requirements: 

  • United States Citizenship
  • Active Secret Clearance (or above)
  • At least 3 years of Radio Frequency, Computer, or Electrical Engineering experience
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time management and communication skills

Preferred Skills & Experience: 

  • Experience in electronic and communication system design, analysis, and test
  • Experience in the design and development of radio signal processors or radio frequency specialized electronics.
  • Experience in the design, development, fabrication, and test of a wide array of electronic printed circuit boards
  • Experience with computer processor design, VITA standards, embedded computing systems, and chassis design.
  • Experience with digital and analog control systems, power electronics, signal processing, electromagnetic Interference (EMI) mitigation techniques
  • Experience with MATLAB or other signal processing tools and applications
  • Experience in laboratory and field-testing, including setting test goals, developing test methodologies, organizing and conducting tests, reducing test data, and analyzing results.
  • Experience with U.S. Navy or other Armed Services’ Weapon or Warfare Systems research and development programs
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Word

Education:  A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is required

Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. 

Travel: On site meetings in Dahlgren, Virginia

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.  

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $130,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
