Job Summary

The ETL Architect is a senior-level business intelligence professional who plays a critical role in the Data and Analytics Team. This role is responsible for the design and implementation of dimensional models, end-to-end ETL architecture, data migration, and data warehousing solutions. The ETL Architect will lead the development of data models, execute ETL processes, and ensure data quality throughout the pipeline. Key responsibilities include analyzing requirements, profiling source data, designing transformations to address data quality issues, and implementing metadata management, data lineage, master data management, and reference data management solutions.

The ETL Architect must design data warehouse/data mart solutions with appropriate staging databases, change data capture mechanisms, error handling, and audit balance controls. This role requires extensive interaction with operational teams and leadership to translate business and analytics requirements into actionable solutions. The ETL Architect will also mentor team members on ETL concepts and strategies, collaborate with infrastructure and DBA teams, and ensure that ETL environments are periodically updated to the latest software versions.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Certifications: Epic Revenue, Clinical Data Model, or Cogito Project Manager Certificate required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Alternatively, 11 years of progressively responsible, professional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience with BI and analytics software, with a strong preference for EPIC, SQL, and Crystal Reports. Experience in providing production-level support and/or development in BI/enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environments.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Experience: Proficient in database development and management tasks, including creating indexes, stored procedures, databases, file groups, and configuring permissions. Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, enterprise data management, and modeling techniques. Experience in designing solutions, participating in strategy discussions, and reviewing with customers and stakeholders.

• Advanced understanding of the Data Migration/Data Warehousing/Data Mart delivery life cycle, from requirements definition to source-to-target mapping and transformation rules.
• Extensive experience in data profiling, identifying data quality issues, and managing master and reference data to avoid hardcoding in ETL processes.
• Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to maintain positive peer and customer relationships.
• Experience in reviewing, re-engineering, and tuning legacy SQL queries or ETL jobs for efficiency.
• Ability to function in a dynamic environment with changing schedules and priorities, handling multiple projects/issues concurrently.
• Experience in estimation, specification gathering, code/design review, execution planning, monitoring, and control.
• Hands-on experience in designing, redesigning (schemas, data models, entity relationships), and guiding developers.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including relational and multidimensional modeling.
• Experience in designing, building, testing, executing, and performance tuning of ETL and reporting applications, including automation of recurring ETL jobs.
