Senior Reporting Business Analyst- PeriOp
The Senior Reporting Business Analyst is a key member of the Data and Analytics Team, responsible for understanding customer analytics needs and providing strategic guidance to deliver actionable solutions. This individual must be familiar with end-user workflows and proficient in the organization's suite of analytics tools, ensuring alignment between business requirements and the most suitable analytics solutions.
This role focuses on developing real-time or near real-time application reports using tools such as Epic Reporting Workbench and Radar, creating custom metrics, SQL-based reports, and operational dashboards. Extensive collaboration with operational team members and leadership is required to analyze business data needs, translate them into analytics solutions, and support the adoption of self-service tools like Slicer Dicer and Qlik Sense.
The Senior Reporting Business Analyst also plays a crucial role in establishing best practices, mentoring junior team members, and managing the prioritization of requests and projects. They will stay updated on Epic advancements, ensuring the transition from legacy tools to modern technologies, while maintaining high standards of project management and analytical skills.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- Certifications: Epic Cogito Fundamentals, Cogito Tools Administration, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model, and at least one clinical/access data model certification. Additional relevant software experience may be considered. Certifications must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent experience of 10 years in progressively responsible roles, combined with demonstrated professional growth, will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Minimum of six years in business intelligence (BI) and analytics reporting software, including at least two years with Epic Reporting Workbench and Radar dashboards. Proficient in SQL for high-volume datasets and knowledgeable about data warehouse concepts and enterprise data management practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications or training related to Epic analytics tools or similar platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare terminology, business practices, and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, DNV, and MIPS.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with operational stakeholders to gather requirements, develop data specifications, and validate analytics solutions.
- Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics using tools like Reporting Workbench, Radar, and Qlik Sense.
- Educate end users on self-service analytics tools and ensure appropriate system access.
- Troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues, ensuring timely delivery of solutions aligned with service-level agreements.
- Mentor junior analysts, enforce best practices, and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality output.
- Plan for the decommissioning of legacy tools and the adoption of emerging technologies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and standards for new and existing solutions.
- Provide after-hours support as required and ensure customer needs are met with a service-oriented approach.
