Department/Unit Summary
The Cath Lab department is a multidisciplinary unit dedicated to delivering comprehensive cardiovascular and interventional radiology care. Our highly skilled team of nurses, technicians, and physicians performs a wide array of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including cardiovascular interventions, peripheral procedures and advanced radiology procedures such as port placements, kyphoplasty, tube placements, and ablations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Preparation: Conduct thorough assessments of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history, obtaining vital signs, and preparing patients both physically and emotionally for the procedure.
- Procedure Assistance: Assist cardiologists and other medical professionals during various procedures. This includes preparing and managing equipment, monitoring patient status, and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Monitoring and Documentation: Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and responses during procedures, promptly recognizing and addressing any complications. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care, medications administered, and procedural outcomes.
- Post-Procedure Care: Provide comprehensive post-procedure care, including monitoring recovery, managing pain and discomfort, and educating patients and families about post-procedure care and follow-up instructions.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies promptly, utilizing advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) skills to stabilize patients as needed.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure and possess an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.
Required Certifications
· BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire
· ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire.
Minimum Work Experience:
· 1 years hospital nursing experience – Required
· 2+ years hospital nursing experience – Preferred· Cardiovascular, Critical Care experience - Preferred.
