As a Process Engineer, you continuously improve overall performance of our Injection Molding Department, with a focus on preform production.  You play a critical role in Garland’s achievement of plant targets, including operational excellence & product quality.

You Will

  • Conduct detailed data analysis to determine root cause of product defects & machine failures to develop corrective actions & implement process changes.
  • Establish new preform & mold qualifications, as well as monitor mold cavitation to identify & implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Identify & propose process improvements for reductions in energy consumption.
  • Contribute to ISO standards adherence within the Conversion department by developing and delivering training.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

You Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in plastics technology, electrical, electronics, electro-mechanical or another related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement tools & methodologies, such as Kaizen, 5S, statistical analysis methodologies
  • Prior experience documenting work processes.
  • The ability to work in confined spaces, at heights of 15’ to 20’, as well as to lift 40 lbs. continuously and 70 lbs. with assistance.
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operation
