What You Will Do:Ā Ā
- Review filling and packaging instructions at beginning of line runs. EnsureĀ the correct packaging materials are available. Ensure the correct Personal Protective Equipment is available and other safety procedures are understood and followed.
- Ensure Ā the line is set up correctly per the filling and packaging instructions
- Operate filling and packaging equipment continually. Types of equipment could include filler, sleeve labeler, cappers, tape machine, bar coders, ink jet printer, hand wrenches, hand stamps, palletizers, and lid presses. Adjust equipment to control weight, closures, or other as required by the specifications.
- Take samples and keeps area clean
- Actively participate in Kaizens, 5S, and special projectsĀ
- Continuingly identify opportunities for system and process waste eliminationĀ
- Complete and document activities that measure quality and productivity in an accurate and timely manner. This could include taking weights and performing basic quality tests. Enter results on paper or in electronic systems.
- Assist with line changeover, including the collection of wash water
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Ā
- Other duties as assigned
Position Details:Ā
- Plant location: Garland, TX
- Work week and shift: 2nd shift - Monday to Friday - 1:30PM to 9:30PM
- Compensation package offered:Ā $26.02 / hour with $0.50 shift differential for 2nd shift
Minimum Qualifications:Ā Ā
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment using the following equipment: filler, sleeve labeler, cappers, tape machine, bar coders, ink jet printer, hand wrenches, hand stamps, palletizers, lid presses
- 1 year of experience working with automated processes Ā
- 1 year working with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)-Ā tablets are used in this role.

Physical Demands:Ā Ā
- Must be able to lift/carry 50lbsĀ
- Must be able to pass a drug screenĀ and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience packaging liquids such as paint, food products, pharmaceuticals, or similar
- Hazardous Materials or DOT training
- Ability to use basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimalsĀ
- Ability to understand and track safety, quality and productivity data, including run rates, fill weights, and averagesĀ
- Mechanical aptitudeĀ
- Experience with Total Production Management (TPM) & Continuous Improvement SystemsĀ
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
