We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join the team at the Phoenix Glendale Renaissance, a newly renovated full-service hotel with 320 guest rooms and 100,000 sq. ft. of versatile meeting space. Our hotel is ideally located within walking distance of major attractions, including the Gila River Arena, State Farm Stadium, Tanger Outlet, and the vibrant Westgate Entertainment District. The Director of Finance will play a crucial role in driving the hotel's financial performance by closely monitoring key metrics and ensuring strict adherence to finance policies, procedures, and best practices. This leadership position is integral to the success of our operations, providing strategic financial oversight to enhance overall hotel performance. Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000  
Bonus Eligible 

The Director of Finance will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments: 

  • Ensure compliance with property internal controls, Atrium SOPs, and safeguarding property assets; 

  • Complete annual and interim external audits;  

  • Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring the accounts are in good standing;  

  • Confirm accurate credit card and cash deposits;  

  • Manage Sales and Use Tax accruals and accounts as well as ensuring compliance with all sales and use tax regulations; 

  • Manage all daily processes in accounting systems including accurate and timely reporting of daily revenue; 

  • Monitor house funds, including cashier variances, providing coaching and disciplinary action, as required  

  • Perform month end tasks and general ledger items, working with Corporate Accounting team to complete financial reporting; 

  • Provide the General Manager and department heads with profitability and financial analysis to include labor reviews, forecasts and budgets; and 

  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position. 

Required Prior Experience:

3 + years of Financial Accounting experience

2+ years management experience

Strong working knowledge of the accounts payable, income audit, and general ledger reconciliation functions

Preferred Prior Experience:

Hotel accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience 

Previous full-service hotel experience 

Front desk experience 

Required Education:

Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business, Finance, Management or other related discipline or equivalent experience

Required Technology:

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Technology:

Working knowledge of POS and PMS systems 

Birch Street, Concur, and ProfitSage, Sage300
