Job Description:

Gloucester, MA (population (30,730) is known as America's oldest seaport founded in 1642.  Located on Cape Ann, conveniently 30 miles northeast of Boston,  the draw for those that visit and live here are the sprawling beaches and waterfront, fishing,  forests, parks and canal side walking routes.   Addison Gilbert Hospital is a 79-bed medical acute care facility that provides inpatient and outpatient care to residents of the Cape Ann Community.

This position is 36 hours/week shift, with two evening shifts required per week (until 7:30pm). This position is a split between pelvic health and orthopedics.
 

Under the supervision of the manager and working within their scope of practice as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Physical Therapist I assesses, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitative programs that improve or restore physical function, alleviate pain and prevent dysfunction in patients with impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status from injury, disease or other causes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: BS Physical Therapy from an accredited program. 


Licensure, Certification, Registration: 

  • Active MA Physical Therapy license OR Candidates for licensure who have submitted a complete and accepted application for licensure “BY EXAMINATION ONLY

  • American Heart Association – Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:   

●    Knowledge of Physical Therapy theory and practice.
●    Ability to observe, assess and record objective findings, symptoms, reactions and progress.  Skills in critical judgement and thinking.
●    Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses, and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the patient.  Clear and effective oral and written communication.
●    Knowledge of Physical Therapy services, facilities and equipment.
●    Ability to assess individual patient needs.
●    Skill in maintaining patient medical record.
●    Knowledge of range of therapy methods and techniques.
●    Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards.
●    Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart confidential information.
