Optum Primary Care Midvale Clinic has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. The hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.  May be asked to float to other practices for coverage.

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Centralized scheduling, making appointment, outreach to patients
  • Use call processing and other applicable functionality in the EHR to take messages and communicate with clinicians
  • Greet patients and conduct check-in process
  • Monitor daily reminder call logs to reschedule appointments as needed
  • Close payment batch(es) at the end of each shift, assemble and balance batch(es) according to cash control procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of current OSHA and Optum policies
  • Assist coworkers as needed to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR 2+ years of customer service experience
  • CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
  • 3+ months of customer service experience
  • Basic level of computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with an electronic health record 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Office Administrative / Receptionist / Clerical experience in a medical environment
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette 
  • Ability to multi-task
